A Trio of Tastiness

BY Lisa Lindblad

Gosh..Spring seems to be in the wings and we are all breathless for it.  Amazing how the senses respond..it is subtle,  but a tremor is felt the length of the body, a tremor of anticipation stimulated by bird song, the smell of fresh growth, and allergies to the Callery Pear blossoms.  And we begin to think of disrobing, of eating al fresco.

Here is a trio of three restaurants to venture out to in the next month.

Taboon, doesn’t have a website but, instead, boasts fresh, amazing Mediterranean produce. http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/taboon/

Print Restaurant, at the Ink Hotel, with its fellow Press lounge and the Dens, a hip cocktail lounge, has food that is really good and the views, pictured above, are a great  draw on a New York  summer’s evening.  http://www.printrestaurant.com

Aurora is a great Italian find with outposts in SoHo and Chinatown.  The one in Brooklyn has an outdoor garden dining area, lots of candles and plants, and is really pretty. Well worth venturing out to BK!  http://www.auroraristorante.com/

But artist is, by no means, the sum total of this 42-year-old.  A genius with a brain constantly on the move, his art is in service to a larger dream - that of supporting a community of creatives from diverse disciplines to inspire social change. In 2010, Yellin created Pioneer Works, an independent, not-for-profit cultural and educational resource unlike an other traditional institution.  Located in a large 3-story brick warehouse in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, Pioneer Works holds public exhibitions, screenings, concerts, readings, as well as lectures and courses on a range of artistic, scientific, and social topics.  Pioneer also awards multiple no-cost arts and science residencies each year.  " ["post_title"]=> string(23) "Dustin Yellin's Passion" ["post_excerpt"]=> string(0) "" ["post_status"]=> string(7) "publish" ["comment_status"]=> string(4) "open" ["ping_status"]=> string(4) "open" ["post_password"]=> string(0) "" ["post_name"]=> string(22) "dustin-yellins-passion" ["to_ping"]=> string(0) "" ["pinged"]=> string(0) "" ["post_modified"]=> string(19) "2017-07-03 13:53:20" ["post_modified_gmt"]=> string(19) "2017-07-03 17:53:20" ["post_content_filtered"]=> string(0) "" ["post_parent"]=> int(0) ["guid"]=> string(31) "http://lisalindblad.com/?p=8282" ["menu_order"]=> int(0) ["post_type"]=> string(4) "post" ["post_mime_type"]=> string(0) "" ["comment_count"]=> string(1) "0" ["filter"]=> string(3) "raw" } }
