The Majorelle Gardens are a must visit in town as is the revamped Berber Museum. Clever shopkeepers, knowing that they have a captive audience, have opened couple of interesting shops across the street. 33 Majorelle is a concept store that rambles and climbs in a creative way and, while I did not see anything of huge interest, it is nice to see innovation in a city that has been able to rest on its creative laurels for a good while.
Next door to 33 Majorelle is a wonderful bookstore with a fascinating and deep collection of books on all things Moroccan. If your trip is truncated to a brief stay in Marrakech it is gratifying to do some armchair travel in this pretty shop. You will be reminded just how beautiful this country is.
