As children, we build our view of the world on the comet of our imagination. Within the safe embrace of our family, we find the courage to explore where the Wild Things live. In isolation and loneliness, we find our closest friends there.
This is our first travel.
Narwhals and Giraffes, Elephants and Panthers. Polar Bears. Dragons.
Later on, when the domestic and distant interpenetrate, becoming whole, becoming one, we can touch the magical in other transporting ways.
One of these is travel.
But we must always keep an imaginary beast beyond our camera lens, visible only to the inner eye.
