Le Zinc

BY Lisa Lindblad

So many new developments in Marrakech, an endless stream of construction. Much of it ugly or characterless. But there are always good restaurants, thanks to the French, and fun, attractive shops. Dined at Le Zinc last night. Located in the Industrial Area and open for lunch and dinner just three nights a week, venturing at night feels like going to the back of beyond. But once there it is buzzing with expats and serves up delicious classics like fois gras, loup de mer, and magret de canard. Delicious and fun. More to come!

The childrens' books on the second floor take flight under a ceiling painted as a cloudless night sky studded with stars and the zodiac's signs, all the brainchild of Jacques Garcia who oversaw the Albertine's meticulous design.  The deep sofas and amber lighting lure one into a lingering frame of mind.  We are definitely in Europe here - we could as well be in a cafe or bistro - far away from the raucous noise and hard edges of Manhattan.  A rare moment of bliss. http://www.albertine.com/" ["post_title"]=> string(13) "The Albertine" ["post_excerpt"]=> string(0) "" ["post_status"]=> string(7) "publish" ["comment_status"]=> string(4) "open" ["ping_status"]=> string(4) "open" ["post_password"]=> string(0) "" ["post_name"]=> string(13) "the-albertine" ["to_ping"]=> string(0) "" ["pinged"]=> string(0) "" ["post_modified"]=> string(19) "2017-04-20 14:50:54" ["post_modified_gmt"]=> string(19) "2017-04-20 18:50:54" ["post_content_filtered"]=> string(0) "" ["post_parent"]=> int(0) ["guid"]=> string(31) "http://lisalindblad.com/?p=8191" ["menu_order"]=> int(0) ["post_type"]=> string(4) "post" ["post_mime_type"]=> string(0) "" ["comment_count"]=> string(1) "0" ["filter"]=> string(3) "raw" } }
