Shellshocked!

BY Lisa Lindblad

October 20, 2010

It takes a special eye to see natural beauty and reinterpret it into something else that is different and just as lovely.

Anne Summers has always had this eye.  Starting her professional life in fashion, her first days at Vogue magazine were under the tutelage of the great Diana Vreeland.  When she moved to London – where she has lived ever since – she continued her rise up through the magazine until she left for new passions.  While some have been purely professional – the design and fabrication of glorious handbags called FOU bags – many of her talented productions have been “one offs” and highly personal.  No one entertains with the same style or conceives, and then wraps, a present with such creativity.  The talent comes from an eye coupled with imagination.

And so we are ready to be shellshocked again…

These natural conch shells were originally sourced on some foreign shore, and each bears its own individual markings.  What wonderful rings they would make she thought!

The rings have a sized ring finger, available from 5 – 9, and, in her opinion, sit best on the middle finger. The Swarovski stones, all in varying colours and sizes, and the glass pearls are  painstakingly applied after the sea shells are varnished. Priced between $75 and $100, they are the best, most original Christmas present out there.
