Saturday’s upcoming New Nordic Cookout at New York’s largest greenmarket is further testimony to the huge popularity of ingredients, cooking technique and great chefs.
In partnership with GrowNYC, The Consulate General of Denmark will host the New Nordic Cookout in the north plaza of Union Square with participation from the Danish Crown Prince couple. The aim of the event, called ‘A Taste of Denmark’, is to give a broad introduction to the philosophy behind the New Nordic Cuisine, cooking with the best ingredients from New York’s own backyard. The audience will have the opportunity to see, smell and taste the ingredients as well as to enter into a dialogue with the chefs. René Redzepi, founding chef of the world’s best restaurant, Noma, will lead the cookout as keynote speaker and will be accompanied by the three prominent Danish chefs, Bo Bech, Claus Henriksen and Adam Aamann who will be cooking New Nordic food using the best local produce.
